Skinlink
Mission
Replacing the current glue based skin attatchment methods by using micro needle fixation systems.
The challenge
The current continuous glucose monitors tend to detach from the skin before 14 days of usage. This is especially the case for athletes that sweat or people who are in contact with water. The glue based skin attachment also causes skin irritation which is an unwanted effect. especially since it is a device that is connected to the arm 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The glucose sensor is just a starting point for SkinLink since there are way more opportunities like transdermal patches, wound closure adhesives and Stoma bags.
The solution
The aim of SkinLink is to improve the attachment time, waterproofness and avoid skin irritation of glue based skin attachment methods by designing devices that use micro needles to fixate to the skin.
